This Man of Galilee

(Coming Soon)
I stumbled across This Man of Galilee quite by accident. I found it in a $1 used book sale at the Voskuyl Library and it caught my eye. What initially was an impulse grab turned into a small historical treasure.
Inside I found a letter that the author, Edith Courtenay Babbit, wrote to her friend to ask some feedback on the book. I was pleasantly surprised. After I read it, I was absolutely blown away by how much of a gem it was.
This Man of Galilee is an imaginative work that somewhat fits into the 'historical fiction' genre. It is written like an epic poem is set during the life of Jesus. The story follows a young man and woman who live in Galilee and are forced to grapple with the revelation of the Christ.
After reading it, I did some investigative work and discovered that not only did a record of this book barely exist on the internet (only one mention in an archive), but that likely only a few hundred or so (at most) were ever published. It truly was a hidden gem.
Digging a bit more, I realized that the copyright for the book was never renewed, putting it in the public domain. I plan to digitize This Man of Galilee and provide a downloadable copy here. My hope is that a few more people can be inspired and challenged by this little book.
