Spring 2025
I first bought this domain during my senior year of my undergrad at Westmont College. My CS professor at the time, Mike Ryu, was a huge advocate for the 'personal site' and assigned us homework to create one. In the tech world, the concept of a personal website acts as a sort of portfolio/resume/creative boast. That is not what this is. However, I am thankful that I own the domain because of him.
Summer 2025
My domain saw its first live site in August of 2025. This is thanks to the onset of the Westmont College Global Semester, or Glosem. I was now fresh out of college and was preparing to help lead a group of students in a study-abroad trip around the world... so naturally, I created a blog. My desire was to have a place to post updates and stories that captured our adventures and experiences. It was actually a pretty cool idea (I hope to bring it back to this site sometime in the future). The site simply provided a big world map with pin locations in it, when someone clicked the pin it opened up to a post tied to our time in that area. Unfortunately, as it one tends to do with all great ideas, I failed to follow through. I only posted twice that whole semester 🤦♂️.
Spring 2026
It is currently April 21st, 2026. I am no longer traveling the world with a bunch of my friends. I am living at home in Orange County with my family and building software for a small insurance company. Life is slow and mostly mundane, so naturally I am writing a good bit more than I used to. Thanks to my new little hobby leviwicks.com has had life breathed into it once again.
